You are right -- this photograph is much too nice to have been taken by me. It is actually a postcard I purchased from a street vendor after a very high-pressure sale. I did try to have my picture taken while standing in front of the Blue Mosque, but there must have been a malfunction either by my camera or by the Turkish carpet salesman to whom I handed my camera.
Although well known as the Blue Mosque, its actual name is the Sultanahmet Camii, built in 1616. It is at the top of the must-see list of all the tourists.
